helping daddy

For Christmas Ryan recived a compressor from Santa. He was very excited, and could be found the next day out in the garage putting it together, and of course little helpers are never far behind.

Mckenzie was absolutly intrigued with how to put it together, and helped Ryan out. Ryan for his part was really great at showing Kenzie all the parts, and how they worked. What a great guy.

They had a great time, and the compressor works great.

funny kids

Aby and Kenzie are some of the most imaginative kids that I know, and playing with a box is always one of the fun times. They love to pretend to be robots or turn it into a house or a boat. I love that they can find simple things to entertain themselves.

My big helper

Brooklyn is a sweetie, but she is attached at my hip, so when I am cooking dinner so is she. sometimes it is ok, others not so much. (usually when I need to use the bathroom, or try to go somewhere and leave her with a babysitter. thoese are the not so good times.)
Brooklyn is helping me to cook the meat up for dinner. (belive it or not she has never burned her toes on the stove either.)

Yeah.....cooking with mom is as good as it gets. (too bad I am usually cleaning up more meat than gets cooked from the stove.)

Funny Brooklyn

Brooklyn is growning up and getting cuter and cuter by the day. On this Sunday after I helped her get in her dress, I found her later playing with a kalidoscope, and putting on Kenzie's boots. She has really gotten into shoes lately, the only thing is she puts on Kenzie or Aby's shoes because they are easier.

Check out that grin.
Brooklyn is found sitting in the shoe basket in the kitchen.

Gingerbread family home evening

For Family Home Evening during the month of December I decided that we were going to make a gingerbread house. I cheated, because I didn't want the mess of making gingerbread, or the mess of trying to get grahm crackers to stick together so I broke down and bought one of the pre-made ones. (I do want to say that I think it was cheaper in the long run because it included the frosting, and all of the candy that was needed.)
The kids had a great time decorating the trees that went around the house. They didn't even eat that much candy to begin with.
Aby had a great time doing the big pine tree, and was having fun sneaking a few candies at the same time.
Kenzie love the decorating but mostly the candy. Isn't being a kid great!!
Ryan had a little bit too much fun!
I think that the house did turn out pretty great and it lasted for the rest of the month, and by the time that we allowed the kids to eat it, they didn't want it because it was too hard.

Kenzie b-day

Mckenzie Joy turned 4 years old on December 1, 2008. She was very excited, to wake up and be bigger. The biggest problem we had was convincing her that she was still going to go to Mrs. Kaye's preschool, and not to her next year preschool.
We had a great time openeing presents, and visiting with family. We are always so grateful for the family that we live by, and miss the ones that are not able to make it.
Grandma Sullivan gave Mckenzie a glass tea set among other things. Thank you Grandma we love you so much.
From Mom and dad Mckenzie got a barbie scooter...the only problem, it didn't work and had to be returned to the store for a different one, not barbie but still a girls scooter, and she rocks on it.
Time to blow out the candles. I admit it my one big downfall is that I don't do exciting cakes like my sister Tiffany. I seriously considered hiring her out to make a cake, but decided to just buy one instead.
The other present that mom and dad gave Mckenzie was a magnetic doll set where you can dress up the dolls, luckily for us there are two dolls, and it was a hit.
