Is it summer yet?

Ok I am not sure why the picture turned the wrong way but there you have it. After Mckenzie's surgery I was feeling like a bad mom, so I gave into her and because she was so brave I bought her Dora flip flops and crocs. She was so excited, that she came right home and tried them on. She also put on her sunglasses, and her skirt. She wanted to go outside, but it was really cold so she put on her coat also. Can you believe my children!!! You would think that they are related to their mother.

This is my favorite. Tiffany Jones gave her these sunglasses for Christmas and they have been her favorite ever since. She is so cute in them.

Chocolate Factory

In my unofficial job of arranging activities for the kids in our ward to do, I was able to arrange a tour of Cavanaghs Chocolate Factory. We actually got a fantastic tour because it was led by one of the ladies in our ward. (Colette Call) She works at the factory, and got permission to take the kids into the factory and let them make chocolate covered gummy worms to eat. (all of this for no charge.) The kids had a great time, and I know that most of the parents enjoyed themselves as well.

You can see how excited the kids were after they placed the gummy worms they would run down to the other end and keep a watch until they could see the worms. The funny part it took nearly 10 minutes for them to come to the end. That didn't bother the kids at all.
Everyone got their worms and we were ready to move onto my favorite part, the caramel section. OHHHH....the samples that we had in there were divine.

Caramel.....need I say more, ok the kids probably didn't enjoy this as much as the chocolate machine, but that didn't stop them from trying out the candy.

At the end everyone gathered around to watch an interesting movie on how chocolate is made. We really did have a great time, and I will never think lightly of how hard it is to make the little chocolates that you eat.

Mckenzie Joy has surgery

On Thursday March 6, 2008 Mckenzie had surgery to remove her tonsils and adnoids. She had been snoring really bad and having a hard time getting enough air during the night time, and so I took her into an ear, nose, and throat doctor. He must have agreed with me since the surgery was scheduled for later that week. To be honest I think that I was more stressed out about the surgery than Kenzie was, she thought that it was going to be a great big adventure. At least that is what she thought until she got to the recovery room after the surgery and figured out how much pain she was going to be in. After that she didn't think that it was a good idea. All in all it has been a long week, however I think that we are finally on the upswing. She had only had one crying tempertantrum today. (so far)
This is Mckenzie after we put her in the hospital gown. Because she was so little the hospital staff gave her a teddy bear. Once she got it she wouldn't let it go. In fact she took it into the surgery with her.
Instead of wheeling Mckenzie in on a bed they let me put her in this wagon and give her rides up and down the hall until they were ready for her and then the nurses took the wagon and pulled her into the surgery room. While they were doing the surgery Ryan and I went down to the cafteria and had some breakfast. (this gave me a whole new respect for Ryan and what he eats while I am in the hospital having babies.)
When I first walked into the recovery room, I wanted to start crying my happy little girl looked so fagile and sick all I wanted to do was trade places with her so that she wouldn't hurt when she woke up. Turns out that she would have liked me to trade places with her when she woke up also. It was a little bit scary because while she was in recovery her oxygen level kept going to low, and so the nurses had to keep her on oxygen. This kept us at the hospital longer than we were planning, and made me very nervous to take her home. Her oxygen level eventually came up and leveled out so we were able to take her home in the early afternoon.
If you look closely at her hand you will see two different blood spots, unfortunatly it looks like she has my veins, and so after two attempt at putting her IV in her hand they had to move it to her elbow. Lucky for her they don't put the IV in until they are asleep from gas.

Where is Kenzie

One day while I was cleaning the kitchen, Mckenzie got very quiet in the other room, and when I went out to see what she was doing I found her covered from head to toe with my two quilts. It was just so cute that I had to take a picture of it.

Brooklyn turns ONE!!!!

Brooklyn officially turned one on Febuary 22, 2008. It was a fun day, and even though Brooklyn didn't have a clue what was going on, she enjoyed being held and fussed about by everyone.
After opening presents, Tiffany Jones thought that Brooklyn needed to play with her and so she took her necklace and gave it to Brooklyn, this is a sure way to entertain Brooklyn who loves to play with anything she can pull.
Grandma Roundy and Grandma Sullivan, made sure that Brooklyn had lots of love, Spencer wanted to make sure that he didn't miss out on anything.
Here we are ready to open the presents that were brought. Brooklyn really could have cared less, in fact Spencer probably opened more presents than she did. Oh well at least someone had fun with the wrapping paper.

This toy is one of Brooklyn's favorites, she loves to push the little doors shut. We are still working on how to open them, but she loves to shut them already.
Ahhh the cake, mom made the cake this time and with the help of Aby and Kenzie decorated it. Not professional, but it's the taste that counts.
I think that Brooklyn liked the taste. I have never had a little girl that loved the cake and frosting that much and was willing to get dirty. Brooklyn dove right in, and ate or at least mashed all the cake that we had given her.
Now this is a messy and content little girl don't you agree.:)

Silly Brooklyn

Brooklyn loves to play in the bathroom, and will play with anything that she can get her hands on. I have had to train the girls to put down the seat on the toilet after they flush so that Brooklyn doesn't play in the water. Unfortunatly for me, I found out the other day that she has figured out how to lift up the lid enough to get her hand into the water...YUCK!!! I don't know maybe she takes after me, and one day I will walk in and see her swimming in the toilet. (I hope not.)
Here is Brooklyn brushing her tooth with Aby's toothbrush. She was so proud of herself to be just like her sisters.

Brooklyn loves to sit at the piano and play the keys. She really likes it when I turn on the demo music and she gets to pretend to play really good music. luckly for me she has only fallen off one time.

Jungle Jims

For Valentines day Ryan and I took the girls out to dinner, and then to a place called Jungle Jim's playland. I must tell you that since Aby and Kenzie are getting bigger I keep looking for places that are not expensive, and fun to go to. This one fit the bill. The kids and Ryan had a great time.

Aby and Ryan had a lot of fun on the bumper cars. This was actually the second time that Aby went on them. The first time she and Kenzie was just learning and didn't have a lot of bumps. The great thing about this place is the adults are free, and they can still use the toys to help thier kids learn them. (I love the grin on Ryan's face)

There wasn't a lot of toys that Brooklyn could go on, but that didn't stop her from playing on some of the smaller toys that took money. (I just didn't put in any of the money.)
Brooklyn spent a ton of time just playing right here in a small boat. Can you beat that smile.

This was a small roller coaster, at least that is what the people say I think that it is closer to the music express ride at Lagoon. That didn't stop the kids from having a great time. Kenzie was the best to watch. She was really excited to go and was having a great time right up until it started to go fast. Then she had this look of horror on her face. I wish that I could have gotten a picture of it, but the coaster was going to fast. We did get her to go back on, but it took some convincing.
Daddy went on it, just to make sure that it would be ok, and safe. ..... Yeah Right!
These were Mckenzie's favorite, they didn't go very fast and so she didn't get scared.
Here is the kdis first attempt at the bumper cars. They sat together because Kenzie couldn't touch the petal to make it go. She did have a fun time.
